What is it?

Cryptographic proof your funds are safe

Proof of Reserves uses a Merkle Tree — a data structure where every user balance is combined into a single root hash. If even one balance changes, the root hash changes.

By checking that your account's leaf node is included in the published root hash, you can independently confirm your funds exist without revealing anyone else's balances.

Why it matters

Built on transparency

Cryptographic Proof

Every balance is hashed into a Merkle Tree. You can independently verify your leaf node without exposing other users' data.

Real-Time Snapshots

Reserve data is updated with every block. The Merkle root hash is published on-chain so anyone can audit it.

1:1 Backing Guarantee

GCex holds reserves equal to or greater than all user balances at all times, verifiable by you.

No Trust Required

The math does the work. You don't need to take our word for it — open-source tools can verify the proof independently.

Got questions?

Frequently asked

How often is the proof updated?

The Merkle Tree is rebuilt with every new block. The root hash and block height are displayed on the result page so you can cross-reference with any blockchain explorer.

Do I need to be a GCex user to verify?

Yes — verification requires your registered email address so we can locate your account's leaf node in the Merkle Tree.

Is my data exposed to other users?

No. The Merkle proof only reveals the path from your leaf to the root — no other user's balance or identity is disclosed in the process.

Can I verify the proof myself with open-source tools?

Absolutely. The proof data returned is standard Merkle proof format. Any SHA-256-capable tool can re-compute the root and confirm it matches the published hash.

Ready to verify your reserves?

It takes less than a minute. Enter your email, confirm your identity, and see your proof.
